Biography - Jai (pronounced “Jay”) Reed serves as the Senior Pastor of the New Beginnings Church New Orleans, and is covered under the spiritual mentorship of Dr. Bobby Sims Jr. and Lady Valencia Sims, The Emerge Church in Hattiesburg, MS.

 

Pastor Reed is most noted in the Gospel Music Industry for his amazing gift and anointed vocal capabilities.  He has four awesome CD’s released: Anointed For Purpose, Self-titled CD “Jai Reed!”, Songs from My Heart and his latest project: The Journey Unplugged (2020).  

 

As a Gospel Artist, Pastor Jai Reed has been privileged to share his music ministry across the United States and also in several foreign countries. In 2009, he was nominated for a Gospel Music Stellar Award in the ‘new artist’ category and in that same year, and winner of the Gulf Coast Gospel Music Award for Best Male Vocalist in 2019.  In 2023, he was honored by NOLA Gospel Music Awards with the Trailblazer Award and in 2024, he was awarded the Male Vocalist of the Year at the 8th Avidity Awards.  Additionally, Pastor Jai Reed manages emerging vocal artists through his management company, Jai Reed Music.   His entrepreneurial spirit also includes his LLC, Utopian Hope House and In Home Care, where he provides assisted living housing and services to US veterans and citizens living with mild mental and/or physical disabilities.

As a Pastor, Jai Reed is very passionate about ministry and seeing the lives of people changed. When beginning his journey of Pastoralship, God gave him a winning theme for his ministry, “A place where Change Is Possible!” Pastor Reed has been Pastoring now for sixteen years and has been blessed to preach the Word of God across the United States.  His ministry is focused on both the spiritual and natural growth of those he lead, and also on serving the everyday needs of the citizens of New Orleans.  To this effect, Pastor Reed founded the H.O.P.E. Project (Helping Other People Endure), which is a foundation that is dedicated to fighting homelessness.  Each month through H.O.P.E. Project, Pastor Reed and his congregation provide a hot meal, fresh clothing, haircuts, health screening and spiritual fellowship to countless homeless individuals living in New Orleans.  The H.O.P.E. Project is currently implementing new programs that connect the citizens of New Orleans with educational opportunities as well as career opportunities and entrepreneurship.
